Heather Cooper brings a contrasting perspective and female voice to the modernist design movement in Canada. Best known for the ubiquitous Roots beaver, Cooper differentiated herself with exquisite painting skills and captivating designs drawing imagination from nature.

Hired right after high-school and mentored by branding legend, Don Watt, Cooper’s distinct aesthetic became widely embraced by corporations and cultural institutions across the country, most notably the Roots retail brand and the Canadian Opera.
